WorkOnes Open Walk-In Service
All 11 WorkOne Northeast career centers are scheduled to open to walk-in customers beginning the week of July 6. Service is also available by appointment. (See story below.) Hours and days of operation at the centers can be found here. The centers will be closed July 3 in observance of the Fourth of July. People must continue to file for unemployment benefits online here. If you're having difficulty with your claim, here are the possible reasons. Staff at the centers are practicing extensive safety precautions and encouraging customers to also follow certain safety procedures. Because of the safety precautions, walk-in customer capacity will be limited.  We have developed a plan to address the safety of WorkOne Northeast staff and customers. That plan can be found here.

Northeast Indiana Works Gets Award for TAA Services

November 12, 2019
Northeast Indiana Works was recently named Region of the Year by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) for providing excellent Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) services.

The TAA program provides various kinds of assistance to workers who have been adversely affected by foreign trade. The assistance can include training, income support, job search guidance, and a relocation allowance.

Northeast Indiana Works oversees WorkOne Northeast career centers in Economic Growth Region 3. During program year 2018-2019, Region 3 served more than 327 TAA-eligible participants across northeast Indiana.

In addition, Region 3 posted the highest successful training completion rate at 91 percent.

Individual WorkOne staff members in five other Indiana economic growth regions also won awards. There are 12 growth regions in the state.
WorkOne Northeast gave me a chance to start over in a new career, even at my age. Through education and training, I’m learning an in-demand trade as a CNC machinist at Greatbatch Medical and making a living wage at the same time. Thank you WorkOne for giving me the chance to show the world that old dogs can learn new tricks.
